In 2011 I was lucky enough to be able to travel to Romania and explore a bit. It was simply wonderful.
I had the luck that a Greek member of the BBR (Stelios) had been there in the past and I had seen the routes he had posted on BBR and the photos that went along with it. As I couldn't identify a suitable travel buddy for this trip, I decided to go alone (which is by the way, if you haven't tried it already, a really great way to be yourself into contact with a lot of people) My main focus would be the Mountainous area of Transylvania, and I would spend hours riding each day, looking for new roads to add to BBR and making films with helmet cam.
From Brussels, I first drove to Ulm in Germany, there I stayed with a friend, the next night I stayed on an Austrian campsite on the border with Hungary. Then cross Hungary and enter Romania near Arad.
The first part of the trip was not designed to capture good roads but simply to arrive in Romania, but the route was something like below:
