EN5-2A Lagoa do Fogo : Lagoa - Rivera Grande

Wonderful mixture of steep climbs mountain curves and wonderful views as the road first climbs and then descends up the mountain and past the crater lake (on of the island's main attractions) Lush vegetation and generally low volume of traffic (except near to the lake itself where there can be many parked tourist vehicles) a really excellent road, one of the best I found on the island.

EN1-1A : Lomba Da Fazenda - Agua Retorta

Fantastic tropical section of mountainous twisties with lovely views of the forest and the sea. Road was being renovated in places when I visited so there might been an occasional disruption for the next couple of years or so. Anyway great fun.

Lovely low mountain switchbacks through lush green scenery. Route becomes cobblestones later, but plenty to enjoy before that

CM1510 : São João do Monte - Caramulo (Caramulo Best Road)

Great road with lots of amazing corners(yet some are kinda tight) and very good surface. The scenery its prety nice. Very low trafic. The only bad thing is that it's not to long, but you can do it 2 ou 3 times ahaha

Um bonito passeio, com paragens em Vila do Conde, Viana do Castelo, seguindo para Ponte de Lima para o almoço.
Após um bom repasto, estava na hora de seguir para o Porto, passando por Barcelos.

Bragança ( Castelo ) / Porto

Passeio das Raposas no Asfalto, entre Bragança e o Porto.
Após visitar o castelo de Bragança, na melhor que seguir caminho até à Albufeira do Azibo para descansar as pernas e dar uns mergulhos, seguindo caminho até Mogadouro para comer uma Posta à Mirandesa no Restaurante a Taquinha, seguindo após o bom repasto, caminho até ao Porto, sem antes fazer uma paragem em Vila Real.
Foi um bom passeio por diversos tipos de paisagens .

N3 : Abrantes to Mação

Not very known but a very very nice road!

Mostly just conners but you have a middle part with some straights, and it has no traffic...even on a saturday we passed two/three cars!

if you want to sloe down and enjoy the scennary you can, it has some nice views!

N2/N112 - Penacova - Castelo Branco

From Coimbra to Castelo Branco with a stop on Pampilhosa da Serra, just pure fun with full power on tight corners. A "must" if you want to try really good roads in Portugal.

Torres Vedras - Alenquer

It starts at Torres Vedras with good straight roads, then it goes wild once you turn left on the junction until Alenquer. There, stop for some photos by the river, over the bridge and then a few hundred meters further with Alenquer village scattered on the hill. Lots of green and forest, great tarmac, fun corners.

LAFÕES

Good winding road, with bends for all tastes and a couple of town crossings with cobbler section. All the rest, great tarmac! To continue on N16, turn left at the end of this portion.

Vouga river

Best section of N16! Along the river first, then climbing the hill. Although the river crossing bridge is on the N16 one has to yield way to enter and leave the bridge. All the rest of the route is twisting and bending without major obstacles

Castro Daire - Alvarenga

Great road with some tarmac irregularities at the first kms but finishes just great. Many corners particularly inside old and narrow stone bridges.
Beware not to wake up the customary dog sleeping on the side of the road in some locations.
Enjoy the views either from the river on your left, the mountain on your right or some centenarian stone villages that stand proud on top of slopes and terrain reliefs.
Also important: the food's great! :)
