Not smooth tarmac, but very nice grip. Nice road.
Despite the dry but beautiful scenery of Alentejo (don´t miss the Pulo do Lobo, a cascade that you can get by offroading a bit from Serpa), this is a nice, open and straight route. Few corners, no police, but some hazards. In summer, you will toast.
