Durmitor

Das Durmitor Gebirge ist eine außergewöhnlich schöne Landschaft. Die Strasse von Zabljak hoch ist mittlerer weile asphaltiert und in einem sehr guten Zustand. Sie ist eng, aber gut fahrbar.
Nicht racen, sondern reisen und genießen ist hier angesagt.

Weiter über Pluzine nach Niksic ist ebenfalls empfehlenswert (andere bereits beschriebene Strecken).
Nach Pluzine runterwärts hat man tolle Blicke auf den Pivsko Jezero.
Weiter nach Niksic ist eine neue, gut ausgebaute Strasse, die ein höheres Tempo vertragen würde, wenn in Montenegro nicht so viel gelasert würde.

Smoked Ham and Cheese

Travel from the Old Royal Capital of Montenegro Cetinje. Cetinje itself has a great no vehicle walkway thru the center with lots of coffee bars to sit and watch the world go by. Or take a tour of the old royal palaces around the city. There is a map and the tour is well marked.
The ride to Njegusi is thru the Lovcen National Park its a spectacular ride and Njegusi is the home of the best smoked ham and cheeses reputedly in the whole of the Balkan area. Then make a simple local cheese that can be bought quite inexpensively in the local grocery shop, it looks cake shaped and is pale. The ham comes in hocks or you can buy smaller peices also. Probably at some point a local will invite you into his shed where many of the hocks are hanging up - aging....

Zabljak - Batocina

Another chicken strips fixer, lots of corners great asphalt and visibility, low traffic, mountain canyon with nice views.

Kotor - Petrovac - Podgorica - Mojkovac - Djurdjevica Tara - Zabljak

One great road to fix any eventual chicken strips you may have. Lots of corners, great asphalt and visibility, low traffic, great scenery sea and mountain. A small detour in Bigradska National Park (and lake) for a superb view.

Zabljak - Savnik - Niksic

Great mountain plateau view, large number of corners, the road is very narrow and tiring, but worth taking only for the scenery.

Lovcen (Cetinje - Kotor)

Breathtaking view over the Kotor fjord like, mountains and very twisty road down to Kotor. This road (not necessarily the road on the map) takes you from Cetinje - through the Lovcen National Park - to Kotor.

Dubrovnik - Niksic

A road that pass from 3 countries, so keep your passports in your tank bag ;) A really spectacular route with no traffic at all, great corners and great great great views…

Shkodër - Bar

A great quiet road for easy border crossing between Albania and Montenegro. The wooden bridge near Skroder is awesome.
