I live in Manchester and so want to get into North Wales a lot but I'm sick of trawling down the M56 so this is the first installment of routes to get there. If anybody else is of the same feeling, please do put some routes up and not just to Wales either!

Alderley to Northwich is a great stretch with plenty of bends, speed limits varying between 40 and 60, not too many lights. Northwich is a lovely place to ride through or too stop for a drink or visit a well known bike shop. The stretch on from there to Runcorn is also quite nice with bends and straights.

There are plenty of commuters and locals going about their business so watch out for them but they shouldn't hold you up too much.
