Eastern MN / Western WI day trip
Solid 3-4 hour drive. Stop in Erin for some food. Go between the lakes, check out the bison, and either keep going or take the scenic loop and go back the way you came
Part of this road is gravel/dirt, but should be fine for any street bike, as long as you don't mind your bike getting a bit of dirt on it. A nice road with flowing corners and scenic views (rode this during the summer). Highly recommend if touring into Homer.
This paved section of Top of the World Hwy is accessible only by 20 miles or so of dirt/gravel road. For that reason, i'd say it's a great route for ADV bikes. But once you get there, it is outstanding - amazing views on incredible smooth blacktop. This was one of the highlights of my ADV trip to Alaska.
Mechanicsburg to poe valley state park
This route starts and ends in Sandy, OR. It was inspired by 'Hoons Ride to the Coast and Back'. The route takes you westward from Sandy to Wilsonville and takes some nice twisty roads along the Nestucca River. Once on the coast, you'll drive past Cape lookout for some breathtaking views of the Oregon coast. Continuing north, you'll drive through Tillamook, Seaside and Astoria (all great coastal towns to stop for a bite to eat). Coming out of Astoria, you'll head into Washington via the gorgeous Astoria Bridge. Make your way to SR-4 to begin the trip back East along the northern bank of the majestic Columbia River. We'll continue East along the River using a combination of SR-4, I-5 and SR-14 as we head to Hood River, OR. This is yet another great town to stop for a bite, gas up or simply stretch your legs. Heading south on Hwy 35 you'll witness the awe inspiring views of Mt Hood as you head home to Sandy.
Around LAFAYETTE area
Inspired by the removal of the Fraser Valley bridge crossing tolls, this ride was designed to cross all the major bridges in the lower mainland. You will traverse 14 bridges, journey through 1 tunnel and visit 12 different cities, all while catching some of the best scenes that the lower mainland has to offer.
Fun mix of mountains and coast with a few places to stop along the way
back roads to Hof
moderate speed limits, lots of curves. places to fuel up and take a break.
Suggest stopping in Greenville, AL overnight. A number of restaurants and hotel choices for dinner & breakfast. Easy access and safe parking at the Hampton Inn and Cracker Barrel (breakfast).
North End Cycle dinner ride to Hunter's BBQ in Etna Green.
Really nice mountainous route near Zion Grove and Old Mine Road. Some nice curves to keep you engaged!
